All events at the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival X will be held at the Kent Campus of Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) at 3939 Roosevelt Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32205. Click here for directions and here for a campus map

Attendees should park in the large lot close to buildings A and F
at the south end of campus.

Friday evening, December 1, 2023
The festival kicks off at 6 p.m. with a reading by Nathaniel Glover from his book Striving for Justice: A Black Sheriff in the Deep South. The reading will be followed by a moderated Q&A session, then book sales by San Marco Books & More and book signings by the author.
At 7:30 p.m. Willie Evans, Jr. will present The Brown Wonder, a multi-media presentation followed by a moderated Q&A session, then enjoyment of its interactive cultural installation.

From 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., hear the work of twelve outstanding student writers from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, FSCJ, and UNF at the Main Auditorium - F-128.

At the conclusion of the student readings, the Dr. James Robert Cobb Student Writing Awards will be announced by Andres Rojas (Poetry), Taryn Wharwood (Spoken Word) and Erica Saffer (Prose).
At 5 p.m., enjoy readings from the fourth set of four writers in the Main Auditorium - F-128: Jenn Chase, Bob Kealing, Tricia Booker, Tim Gilmore
At 6 p.m., Mayor Donna Deegan will read from her book, Through Rose-Colored Glasses: A Marathon from Fear to Love. The reading will be followed by a moderated Q&A session, then book sales by Chamblin’s Uptown Book Store and book signings by the author.
Starting at 7 p.m. enjoy light bites, non-alcoholic beverages, and a book signing by Donna Deegan while you meet and mingle with authors, students, and fans at the after-party in the Lobby of the Main Auditorium - F-128.
